On Sunday 21 and Monday 22 November Minister-President of the Government Flanders Jan Jambon visited Edinburgh .
Mr Jambon met Nicola Sturgeon, Scottish First Minister. He also had engaging conversations with Jenny Gilruth (Scottish Minister for Culture, Europe and International Development), with representatives of the Scottish performing arts sector, and with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh. At the end of his visit, Mr Jambon visited BioQuarter, a major life sciences innovation centre in Edinburgh.
The Minister-President also launched the joint trade mission by the Ports of Antwerp and Zeebrugge to the UK. Both ports are visiting their sister ports in Edinburgh (22/11), Liverpool (23/11), Hull (24/11), and London (26/11). On the programme: strengthening trade ties between Flanders and the UK, working together to implement greener technologies in port environments, and working on strong and resilient relations post-Brexit.
